Ident Solutions makes the country safer with its security authorization software. The company’s signature secure background check software helps secure critical infrastructure facilities and the high-value assets that they house. The company recently contributed to national law enforcement conferences, sharing ideas for improving predictive security.
Ident Solutions makes it easier for government agencies and commercial organizations to instantly screen visitors, employees, and contractors through its FedCheck software. Homeland Security, along with the CJIS and the FBI, has implemented stronger strategic imperatives which have now been extended to local law enforcement agencies to unify the entire security system. FedCheck facilitates a level of communication between all branches of law enforcement and critical infrastructure that has not been achieved before.
As part of Ident Solutions’ efforts to improve security screenings nationwide, the company has contributed to several major law enforcement conferences. The first was the Major Cities Chiefs Association/Police Executive Research Forum in Nashville, Tennessee in June. The association comprises chiefs and sheriffs from the largest cities in the United States and Canada. It serves 81.9 million people with a workforce of 185,183 officers and non-sworn personnel.
Ident Solutions also took part in the Criminal Justice Information Services Advisory Policy Board Meeting in Greensboro, North Carolina in June. The board is a federal advisory committee responsible for reviewing policy and appropriate technical and operational issues related to the programs administered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s CJIS Division. The board makes recommendations to the FBI Director based on its findings. As such, it recently created the policy which allows critical infrastructure to query NCIC data to secure their premises.
According to Travis Knudsen, Vice President of Ident Solutions, the FedCheck system is helping to revolutionize predictive security screenings.
“We’ve come a long way from the time when authorities had to rely on a hodge-podge of different databases that may or may not have been updated in order to learn about a person’s criminal background,” said Knudsen. “FedCheck uses NCIC data for on-demand background checks with instant access to federal databases to provide the most current security information from all levels of law enforcement.”
Ident Solutions facilitates simple, thorough predictive security screenings for the 16 critical infrastructures as defined by the Department of Homeland Security. These sectors include:
- Commercial
- Entertainment
- Critical manufacturing
- Healthcare and public health
- Government and education
- Communication information technology
- Financial services
- Chemical
- Transportation
- Dams
- Defense and industrial
- Emergency services
- Energy
- Food and agriculture
- Nuclear reactors, materials, and waste
- Water and wastewater
