This is the first year Emerging Hedge Funds Association holds a strategy contest on the website. Although the entries were not so many, we got some delighted ones.
Seedorm Asset Management is a boutique hedge fund that focuses on machine-driven trading strategies innovation. Their strategies have all made it to show some returns above 20% YTD. For long/short strategies, we think they are terrific numbers, especially for the current market situation. Their previous performances were nothing less exciting as well. All of their applied strategies fell in a range between 30%-55% annually for the past two years, indicating that the strategies have very good adaptability in the transition from bull to bear. Another important feature that needs to be highlighted is that their strategies all have relatively low drawdowns for the monitored periods. This is a strong winning point for us in the contest appraisal. Consistently high return with low drawdown is absolutely the strategy that everyone loves.
The only not-so-sure might be the capacity of their strategies. But luckily, it is not an urgent issue for the moment yet. As they take the investment like seeding in the soil, Seedorm has the patience to grow the size slowly. We think this attitude to AUM is really worth some applause by itself. Seedorm is definitely a brand we would recommend if anyone wants to look into the emerging hedge funds sector for better rewards of their investment.
