Hardbacon, a personal finance application used by more than 35,000 Canadians, announced today a new list revealing the 67 richest Canadians in 2022.

Canada is home to a number of billionaires, who have each earned their fortunes in various ways. From family inheritances to new money created thanks to the tech boom, Canada’s richest citizens have impressive stories to share that span old and new generations. The richest individual in Canada as of the list’s measurement date was Chanpeng Zhao who started Binance – a cryptocurrency exchange that is now the biggest in the world in terms of volume. According to Bloomberg, Zhao is worth $85.93 billion CAN ($68.2 billion US).

With a net worth of $17.38 billion CAN ($13.8 billion US), Sherry Brydson is the second richest Canadian to make the list.
