The idea for Handy Bands emerged at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic when siblings Andrew and Steph Trebino were looking for a convenient way to integrate face masks into everyday living. Wearing them wasn’t the issue; remembering to always bring one along was. Together they developed a face mask that can easily convert to a wristband when not needed.
Initially, the expectation was that Handy Bands would be helpful through the end of 2020 when stores, restaurants, and other public spaces reopened. Now in 2022, Handy Band Face Masks continue to be a simple solution whether you are dining out, going for a walk/run, or hopping in the car to run errands.
“A lot of us are just waiting for COVID-19 to end at this point, and that can be a tough mindset to maintain,” says Steph Trebino, Wolf Rock Design co-founder. “We want to focus on what we can control and continue to move forward in a positive direction.”
Passionate about the environment, Andrew and Steph have improved the Handy Band Face Mask by switching to eco-friendly materials in production. The new masks are now made using a 3-ply 100% cotton fabric and plant-based buttons derived from palm tree seeds. It comes in four sizes and the stretchy fabric gives a more comfortable and secure fit.
A portion of the mask proceeds will be donated to various environmental non-profit organizations that support global restoration efforts. When you wear your Handy Band Face Mask, you’re advocating for not only individual and community health, but also the health of our planet.
