In early December 2018, the client was walking back to her parked car where her mother was waiting for her. As she angled her way across the intersection of Spofford Avenue in the Bronx, she was struck by a pick-up truck.
The driver claimed the client was outside of the crosswalk and he did not see her crossing. The client and the mother of two children, sustained severe trauma to her leg and a fractured pelvis.
Although her fractures did not require any surgeries, the skin on her leg was badly injured and she required significant grafting procedures performed by a skilled plastic surgeon. After several months of extensive physical therapy and rehabilitation, the client was able to walk and drive without assistance or limitations.

A lawsuit was commenced without any delay. After significant litigation and negotiations, our client accepted an offer of Three Million and Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($3,250,000.00) to resolve her claim. The significant sum of money allowed the client to provide for her children and ease the anxiety she felt about her future due to her accident and injury. The excellent outcome was achieved in just over a year and a half from the date of the accident despite the state-wide shutdown due to Covid.
