This spring, a Ukrainian schoolgirl will attend the Yale International Alliance Conference on Global Citizenship in Rome thanks to the STEM is FEM project. According to Sergey Tokarev, GenIT founder and a charity project initiator, the participation in the conference is the main prize of the next educational module dedicated to Energy and Ecology.
“One of the Big Three universities in the United States, Yale, is the organizer of the conference in Rome. Yale has graduated five US presidents, thirteen Nobel laureates, and four Oscar winners, – says Sergey Tokarev. – The conference 2020 is dedicated to developing a new generation of “citizens of the world” and formulating the competencies required to live in a globalized community. This is a trending topic that should motivate our winner to develop her personal and professional skills.”
The main discussions of the conference focus on such topics as art, climate change, citizens’ influence on government, leadership in business and society, as well as global diversity and inclusion. The speakers will be represented by commercial and non-governmental organizations, including the UN, the World Bank, the Royal Academy of Arts, and the United States Agency for International Development.
“The winner of the final competition of the STEM is FEM module dedicated to Energy and Ecology will receive the opportunity to visit the conference. Before the module, there is an online competition on the project website. The 30 girls that show the best test results will be invited to Kyiv on February 15-16, – says Sergey Tokarev. – Any high school female student from any settlement in Ukraine who has not yet entered the university can take part in the competition. In Kyiv, the girls will listen to motivational speakers who have succeeded in their careers, talk to women working in the fields of ecology or energy, and visit industry-related institutions.”
Two more participants, who will do well in the module competition, will get access to an online course from the famous Udemy educational platform. The Ecosystem Ecology course consists of four blocks and with the help of 3D animation it lets students grasp basic ecology concepts that are usually difficult to understand without visual material.
The winners of two previous STEM is FEM modules, that were dedicated to Biotechnology and IT, have won the participation in Webit Festival Europe and Women in Tech Perspectywy.
