ConnecteDriver, the premium conference and networking event taking place in Brussels on January 29-30 2014 will host world class speakers from Renault, General Motors, TomTom, Garmin, NNG and more.
The conference aims at providing a realistic assessment of the state of the connected car market. While the major car brands have already launched vehicles featuring connected services, many of those have yet to find a real market and to satisfy drivers.
In a report published this week by Accenture, a majority of the 14,000 drivers surveyed in 12 countries think that in-car technology has a greater influence on their car purchase decision than the vehicle driving performance.
Meanwhile, a recent study by research firm SBD indicated that 33% of telematics owners surveyed in the USA have never used any of the connected services offered by their car manufacturer; in Europe this figure stands at 26%.
Far away from yet another “telematics conference,“ ConnecteDriver’s goal is to answer two simple yet complex questions: how to satisfy this new “connected driver“ and how to make a business out of it.
The event will also see the final stage of the Auto App Challenge – https://www.autoappchallenge.com , a start-up competition created to promote innovative connected services for the car and the driver: another way to infuse the automotive industry with mobile innovation.
ConnecteDriver is sponsored by deCarta, EnGIS and Coyote Systems and produced by GPS Business News.
