Gaston & Sheehan Auctioneers, who has been the National Jewelry, Art and Antiques contractor for the U.S. Marshals Service since 2009, is now conducting the online liquidation of Andy Warhol’s signed 1964 ‘Jackie’ and a black and white lithograph by Heinz Schulz-Neudamm for the 1927 UFA Fritz Lang science fiction film “Metropolis”.

This auction takes place online on Gaston & Sheehan’s website and is open to the public. Both pieces of art available boast their influential ranks almost to the point of redundancy by introduction. Having been extensively exhibited over the years, Warhol’s serigraph is a timeless piece that any contemporary art enthusiast would be proud to display. Likewise, the notoriety of the German expressionist science-fiction film “Metropolis” had one of the greatest impacts on pop culture films to come, and as such has become a classic among classics.

Warhol was one major influencer of many in popularizing the silk-screening technique. In ‘Jackie’ he utilized gold paint and silkscreen ink on a rounded canvas to depict Jacqueline Kennedy smiling in the limousine just prior to the historic tragedy that took place in Dallas on November 22, 1963. Additionally, Neudamm’s “Metropolis” is an original stone lithograph on paper that measures an impressive thirsty-seven by eighty-two inches overall. With such eye-catching design and artistry this auction will almost certainly provide an invigorating addition to an inspired fanatic’s collection.

Gaston & Sheehan Auctioneers, Inc. is a family-owned business that was founded in April of 1988 through a merging of the partners’ operating businesses and years of experience.
