GROW SOME SUMMER FUN WITH GARDENUITY’S GOOD THYME

VIRTUAL GARDENING KID CAMPS AND CLASSES

Gardenuity, the leading experiential gardening brand, announces it is offering virtual gardening camps for kids with the launch of the Good Thyme Garden Camp. Additionally, a percentage of each Good Thyme Garden camp registration will go to the Save the Children organization.

VIRTUAL SUMMER GARDENING CAMP FOR KIDS

Gardenuity has introduced thousands of people to the joy of gardening through in-person and virtual gatherings and this summer will offer a virtual gardening camp for kids. Good Thyme Garden Camp kicks off July 29. The two-session camp is suitable for kids ages 4-10. Fall and holiday gardening camps are already on the calendar. Families can follow Gardenuity.com to be notified of future camp dates.

Each participant will plant and nurture their own garden of fresh herbs and vegetables customized to their location. Each two-session camp will focus on planting and caring for a garden and learning how to use their own harvests in the kitchen by creating garden inspired recipes.

“I see the garden as a great equalizer. Children of all ages, abilities, and location can grow together and experience the joy that comes with nurturing something good.” Donna Letier Co-Founder of Gardenuity. “Learning how to grow things you eat fosters more than just horticultural skills in children. In the garden you can teach math, science, and self-confidence – gardening is a way to practice gratitude, and children get to feel the pride that comes with bringing something good to life. Gardening with children has been shown to encourage healthy eating, enhance fine motor development, grow environmental stewards, and as a way to actively engage all five senses.

Each camp consists of two, 60-minute sessions. Session one involves planting your own vegetable and herb garden, learning about plants, soil, and how to care for your garden. Session two is about enjoying the harvest while making fresh herb hummus, lemonade, and pizza. Each participant receives a garden kit with everything they need for their garden, including a collection of fully rooted organic plants, a grow bag, soil, and plant nutrients.

In addition to growing some great fresh flavors, each child will know that they are also helping to grow great communities. A percentage of each Camp registration goes directly to the Save The Children organization and their #standwithsave initiative.
