Fitlectic is announcing the launch of its lifestyle apparel brand to impact and encourage people experiencing serious, long-term illness. It’s the cornerstone of a global campaign to inspire the world community to take the challenge to live a healthy lifestyle to promote healing. The apparel is available at https://www.fitlectic.com.
CEO Peter Onuoha says he conceptualized Fitlectic following his 18-month battle with a near-fatal bacterial infection in 2017. “The medications doctors said I would be on for the rest of my life did nothing to improve my condition, and I was nearly suicidal,” he says, “But then I researched my symptoms and requested a test for H Pylori Bacteria, which came out positive.”
At that point, Onuoha made the decision to take full control of his health, with his first move being to change his diet and incorporate exercise. He formulated a meal plan which started to lead him down his path to recovery. The foundation of his meal plan was plant-based foods.
Onuoha adds that since he got his health back, other people can do so as well – that’s why he wants to help. “I was able to find my passion and purpose in life,” he says, “which is to encourage and educate people on the importance of fitness, healthy eating, drinking enough water, and why it shouldn’t be taken for granted.”
“Fitlectic encourages people who may also be experiencing serious illness to make changes to their health like I did,” he adds, “I want Fitlectic clothes to be a source of hope for everyone going through a struggle.”
Onuoha is also behind an Instagram account @rethinkmindfullness, which has 40,000+ followers. He shares fitness tips, videos on how to prepare plant-based foods, and motivational quotes. “I want people who are struggling to know there is hope if they start making healthy lifestyle choices,” he says, “People need constant reminders to adopt and stick to new, healthy options, and there is no better way to do it than through beautifully-designed t-shirts and merchandise.”
The fitness men’s line includes motivational tees, fitness statement tees, and fitness statement hoodies. Women’s products include tanks, tees, and hoodies. There are also plant-based / vegan offerings for men and women. “The messages written on the apparel sometimes start a conversation on people’s fitness journey and their plant-based lifestyle,” he says.
“Our vision is to become the only clothing brand that’s not just after your physical looks and appearance, but also your total well-being, including the way you eat and exercise.”
Fitlectic.com is a mission-driven website, and the brand is committed to donating 10% of each sale to causes that support healing from sickness, poverty alleviation, social justice, women’s rights, and other issues impacting the world. Onuoha says, “Business shouldn’t just be about making money, but a way of adding value to people’s lives.” The company has already partnered with CarbonClick in New Zealand, an organization committed to fighting climate change.
Onuoha has also created a 100% free 28-day health and fitness challenge, in collaboration with a board-certified holistic nutritionist and certified personal trainer. Free registration is at https://rethinkmindfullness.com/28-days-challenge/.
