On May 21, Fine Art Shippers participated in the educational live webinar “Art logistics today: safety in transportation and storage of art” organized by the Moscow-based online art platform ARTinvestment.RU. The company was represented by Ilya Kushnirskiy, Co-Founder of Fine Art Shippers, who took part in the webinar as an expert in art logistics and transportation. Mr. Kushnirskiy shared his expertise and thoughts on the current situation in the industry and provided recommendations on the art transportation during the coronavirus outbreak.
Organized to support the art community, the webinar was hosted by Egor Molchanov, Art Investment Expert and Head of ARTinvestment.RU, and Denis Belkevich, Art-Finance Specialist and Chief-Editor of ARTinvestment.RU. Titled “Art logistics today: safety in transportation and storage of art,” it discussed many important issues faced by the artists, art collectors, gallerists, and other art business professionals in the times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
What is art logistics today, and what to expect in the future if art galleries and dealers move their businesses online? How to ensure the safety of the art collection, minimize losses, and stay afloat? What can art collectors do to return artworks from the exhibitions in other countries, and how to display and sell art when almost all galleries and museums are closed? Is it safe to ship art and antiques during the coronavirus pandemic? These were only some of the questions discussed extensively in the webinar.
Ilya Kushnirskiy took an active part in the ARTinvestment.RU webinar and shared his expert opinion on the art logistics in the coronavirus times. It was not for the first time that Mr. Kushnirskiy participated in the webinar supporting the art community. On May 8, he took part in Observer’s Business of Art Webinar discussing the situation with the art sales and auctions in the COVID-19 realities, which also featured Marc Porter, Chairman of Christie’s Americas, and Mary von Aue, Editorial Director of Observer.
The coronavirus pandemic has greatly affected all spheres of the art business, bringing new challenges never before faced by the art community. In these difficult times, it is important to stay together and support each other in any way. It becomes possible thanks to such online platforms as ARTinvestment.RU and Observer, which provide space for art business professionals and art lovers to share their experience and love for art. Fine Art Shippers will continue to take part in live webinars and other events aimed at helping the art community become stronger and grow.
