Fine Art Shippers to Join Ecopazifico Environmental Education Project

Industry: Art & Design

Fine Art Shippers is happy to join Ecopazifico, an important environmental education project dedicated to the children of the Colombian Pacific.

New York, NY (PRUnderground) November 30th, 2018

Fine Art Shippers, a New York City-based international fine art shipping company, joins Ecopazifico, an environmental education project dedicated to the children of the Colombian Pacific. Our aim is to present one of the most important global issues and to show how plastic trash can be used as an artistic medium.

Ecopazifico is an interdisciplinary collective formed by artists and business professionals from different fields and industries, wishing and willing to contribute to the well-being of our planet. The program is focused on establishing and developing a recycling system for plastics collected by volunteers and children on the beaches of La Barra, Ladrilleros, and Juanchaco located on the South Pacific Coast of Colombia. This region has long been suffering from all sorts of waste arriving with the tide every day, which affects not only people and communities but also a great variety of species, including the Humpback whales that travel there from the Antarctic to give birth.

Material to Revive

A vital part of the Ecopazifico environmental education project is to educate children of the communities about the relationship between sustainability and arts through various physical activities, talks, videos, and workshops. These new experiences and knowledge invite children to see plastic trash they collect on the beach as an artistic medium, not as waste. The word “trash” itself was replaced with the word “MAPARE,” which stands for Material Para Revivir (Eng. Material to Revive), thus entirely changing the concept of trash as useless material.

All the art pieces created within the Ecopazifico environmental education project are made out of MAPARE!

As a professional art logistics company committed to sustainable art shipping, Fine Art Shippers supports any eco-friendly actions related to fine art handling, moving, packing, and crating. For this reason, the Ecopazifico environmental education project is especially important for our team, and we are going to use all our resources and efforts to create further awareness of this program. Our extensive network of art galleries, artists, and different art-related institutions allows Fine Art Shippers to connect Ecopazifico with art business professionals from all over the world, giving the project more opportunities to benefit the environment by showing how plastic trash can be transformed into beautiful art. We will also provide Ecopazifico with any local or international transportation support for moving, shipping, and installing artworks made out of MAPARE they need.

Fine Art Shippers is very excited and proud to be part of the Ecopazifico environmental education project, and we offer you a chance to do the same! Join us at Art Basel Miami 2018 to learn more about the program and how you can help change the world for the better!
