DMAX Foundation will host its third annual DMIXER, Conversations at the Casino, on September 28, 2017, with the generous support of Booz Allen Hamilton, Actua, and Janssen Research and Development.  The event will be held at the Shipley School in Bryn Mawr at 6:30 PM and will include casino games, music, drinks and a silent auction.  Dinner will be sponsored by local restaurants including Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar of Radnor and Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza in Wayne.

DMAX Foundation, a Philadelphia area nonprofit organization, was founded in 2013 by Lee and Laurie Maxwell of Bryn Mawr, PA in memory of their son Daniel Maxwell, who took his life at age 18.  The Foundation is addressing a significant unmet need on college campuses where students suffering with mental or emotional challenges can’t or don’t seek the help they need because of stigma, overcrowding, and under-resourced counseling services.  This can and too often does lead to tragic results.  The foundation has developed an innovative solution with a rigorous, replicable model for student-led, mental health-related social clubs, called DMAX Clubs, that encourage college students to talk about how they are doing, how their friends are doing and how they can help each other.

DMAX is celebrating the opening of its newest DMAX Clubs at Penn State University and Drexel University, and will share its plans for additional DMAX Clubs in the Philadelphia region.  The event will help the Foundation raise funds to continue to build DMAX Clubs on college campuses to enable more students to have a place to share how they are really doing with other students so that they do not have to hide from each other.  With the support of the community, DMAX Foundation can continue its efforts to stem the tide of tragic consequences when students keep to themselves and don’t have the really important Conversations That Matter.

DMAX will also announce the winning “Conversation Starter” from it’s summer campaign “Creating Conversations That Matter.”
