We’re quickly approaching the warmer months. Spring is already upon us and summer isn’t that far around the corner. That’s great news for plenty of holiday destinations, and summer breaks are certainly the preference for many people heading off on solo holidays, but what about those who want to take to the slopes? What about those who know the feeling of snow flying from under their skis as they round a corner? What about those who, rather than lying on a sun-drenched beach, want to climb high above the rest of us, expose themselves to the cold of a mountain side and then speed down it, wind whipping past them and frost reddening their cheeks? What about them?
For the skier, summer marks the end of the season. Resorts around the world close as the snow melts and drains away. It’s good for the landscape, as it gives the mountainsides time to recover for the next year, but it does mean that skiing becomes restricted to indoor slopes.
However, here at Friendship Travel we want to make sure you are skiing right up until the end of the season, which is why we still have singles holidays for skiing trips running as long as the season does. You can still head off to Courmayeur, St Anton, Tignes and Val d’Isere with us in March and, in some cases, April to enjoy the slopes there.
