Dinosaur River Expeditions Sponsors Paddlefest in Utah’s Red Fleet State Park

Utahns wanting to try their hand at paddle sports can get a free shot at it on June 14-15 at Red Fleet State Park thanks to the sponsorship of businesses like Dinosaur River Expeditions. The company is the only locally-owned river rafting outfitter in Vernal, Utah and will be helping to fund and organize Paddlefest 2019, which allows people of all ages to try out kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddle boards for no charge.

Dinosaur River Expeditions takes guests river rafting in Utah and Colorado through Dinosaur National Monument, which is home to one of the largest natural displays of exposed dinosaur bones anywhere.

Owner Tyler Callantine’s grandfather excavated fossils here in the early 1900s, and the love of the land and its waterways runs rich in Callantine’s veins. He helps people explore Dinosaur National Monument and the Green and Yampa Rivers through all-inclusive rafting expeditions.

Callantine is also heavily involved in sponsoring community events that draw people to the area for wholesome recreation. He is excited to be a part of Paddlefest, which gives people a chance to try out new water sports against the picturesque desert landscape of Red Fleet State Park in Vernal.

“It’s easy to stay cooped up indoors these days, but there’s so much beauty and recreation to be enjoyed in the great outdoors,” said Callantine. “Paddlefest lets families try out these fun and challenging sports in a beautiful setting and potentially pick up a hobby that they can enjoy together for years to come.”

Paddlefest is billed as one of Vernal’s most popular summer events and features a giant waterslide, live music, guided tours of Red Fleet’s 200-million-year-old dinosaur tracks, fireworks, and food trucks. There will also be a homemade raft contest with a $500 prize for adults and $100 prize for kids.

In addition to Paddlefest, Dinosaur River Expeditions is a sponsor for the DinoSaur Hot Air Balloon Festival, John Wesley Powell River Festival, and Vernal’s Trees for Charity auction.

Dinosaur River Expeditions offers white water rafting through the Gates of Lodore on the Green River or the Yampa River. The expeditions can span from a few hours up to five days, and they include safety equipment, hiking adventures, delicious meals, and transportation and from the departure site.
