DHS’ Chairman, Rakesh Sarna, Announces Appointment of Fernando Aguirre as President of DHS Chemicals

DHS‘ Executive Office today announced the appointment of Fernando Aguirre by Rakesh Sarna, Chairman of DHS, as President of DHS Chemicals, effective June 1, 2021.  Fernando Aguirre will serve as a member of the Executive Committee and the Governance and Nominating Committee of the Board. Following the appointment of Mr. Aguirre, the Board will comprise 14 directors, 13 of whom are independent.

Mr. Aguirre is the current Vice Chairman of DHS, a position he will continue to carry and serve in.  Prior to that, Mr. Aguirre was group vice president, Blackstone Venture Group. Mr. Aguirre has been a director of United Technologies, a technology products and services company, since 2011, serving on its Committee on Compensation and Executive Development and chairing its Committee on Governance and Public Policy. Mr. Aguirre served as a director of Intel, from 2004 to 2008, serving on its Audit Committee.

Mr. Aguirre has also served as a director of CarbonAD, Inc., a privately-held 3D printing company, since April 2016. Mr. Aguirre has served on the Board of Trustees of Cornell University in 2006 and on the Board of Overseers.  He served as chair of the US-China Business Council from 2013 to 2015. In 2016, Mr. Aguirre joined the board of directors of Xerox, a privately-held technology company, and the Temasek Americas Advisory Panel of Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited, a privately-held investment company based in Singapore.
