Detroit resident Pamela Hilliard Owens made a popular presentation on “Working with Self-Publishing Authors: Best Practices” at “Be a Better Freelancer® – Profiting in Publishing,” the 11th annual Communication Central conference for aspiring and established freelance writers, editors, proofreaders, indexers, graphic artists and more, held October 28–29, 2016, in Rochester, NY.
“Pamela Hilliard Owens’ take on this topic was timely and practical, and resonated strongly with conference attendees,” said Communication Central owner and conference host Ruth E. Thaler-Carter. “This is a topic of importance to colleagues in a wide range of fields and was a valuable addition to the 2016 conference. In fact, several participants said this session alone made the conference worth every cent.”
The conference brought together speakers and attendees from around and outside the U.S. Participants included those thinking about, new to, and experienced in freelancing for publishing houses, individual authors, publications, businesses, nonprofits and more. Sessions also were useful for in-house editorial and communications professionals seeking to upgrade their skill sets.
This was the first time that Pamela has presented at a Communication Central conference. Pamela H.
