DesignRush Digital Magazine Unveils Its List of Highest Paying U.S. Companies for Designers

Report sheds light on which U.S. companies are currently offering the most attractive salaries

DesignRush, the digital design magazine that’s becoming the industry’s one-stop resource for graphic artists and designers, revealed today its list of U.S. companies that compensate designers with the best salary packages. The list is broken down by job titles including web designers, product designers, UX designers, graphic designers and interaction designers so that specific positions can be compared. The information presented in the report is aggregated from employee self-reporting sites like Glassdoor and Payscale.
“Having a clear understanding of the salary ranges for various positions is critical when evaluating a job offer. The problem is that most companies keep employee compensation data closely guarded,” says Gabriel Shaoolian, founder of DesignRush. “The purpose of our DesignRush list is to help designers make informed decisions about job opportunities and optimal career trajectories.”
Not surprisingly, the DesignRush list includes many well-known, tech industry heavy hitters like Google, Amazon and Microsoft, but the amount they compensate designers varies significantly by company. A product designer at Dropbox, for instance, will make between 130k and 190k, the report shows, whereas Microsoft is only offering 85k -128k for the same position. Of course, work location and previous experience are variables that ultimately determine final compensation, but the list gives a general comparison of top salaries in each field and which companies are paying designers the most.
