Illinois trial attorney David Cates was recently named one of The National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys’ (NAOPIA) “TOP 10” attorneys due to his demonstrated expertise in the law field. Cates is now part of the less than 1% of attorneys in the United States who have garnered this prestigious accolade.
The NAOPIA, a leading organization for personal injury lawyers across the United States, is dedicated to recognizing today’s top attorneys in this field of law. According to the NAOPIA, selecting the best attorneys from among the nation’s more than a million lawyers is no doubt a challenging feat. However, the academy uses a stringent process to determine who will receive the “TOP 10” honor, and it determined this year that Cates demonstrated a remarkable amount of success, expertise, experience, skill, and knowledge.
To earn a spot on the NAOPIA’s list, an attorney must not only be licensed but also be in excellent standing in his or her given state. They attorney must also be a private-practice lawyer with a minimum of five years of personal injury experience. In addition, the attorney must have received an award nomination from the NAOPIA’s research staff or another licensed practicing lawyer.
Cates said he is humbled by the honor and looks forward to continuing to practice law at a level that is worthy of both his license and the NAOPIA’s “TOP 10” honor.
