Founded in 1982 in St. Louis, Missouri, Craftsmen Industries, Inc. has worked hard to establish itself as a leader in large format printing and graphic design. Their reputation for completing custom projects with superior results on a timeline earned their work a spot in the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas. The museum gave Craftsmen full creative license to design, manufacture, and install displays and graphics in the hall where their “We the People” exhibit would be housed until January.
Employing a team of over 170 tradespeople, Craftsmen Industries, Inc. prides itself on meeting the needs of its customers, regardless of the request. Their employees’ diverse skill sets housed under one roof allow the Craftsmen team to work closely together to develop concepts, design graphics, and engineer solutions for their customers. This close collaboration encourages innovation and helps teams produce superior products on budget and on time.
“The Crystal Bridges Museum project was a fantastic opportunity for our team to really shine,” remarked Mark Steele, CEO and Co-Owner of Craftsmen Industries, Inc. “Starting with a blank slate allowed us to work together in a unique way, utilizing all of our skills from graphics design and large scale printing, to engineering and manufacturing dimensional lettering. We are honored to have the chance to create a space where others can come to learn about the founding of our country and express their own ideas about the Constitution.”
The “We the People” exhibit opened to the public just in time for Independence Day in 2022 and will remain open until January 2, 2023. The exhibit will include a rare first edition copy of the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights, joined by other historical documents including the Declaration of Independence and Articles of Confederation. Throughout the hallway, Craftsmen Industries added multiple three-dimensional and large format graphical elements inviting visitors to express their own feelings and ideas about the Constitution.
Craftsmen’s contributions included:
- A magnetic whiteboard
- An interactive 3D scroll
- Multiple large format wall graphics
- Standoff dimensional lettering
- Custom wooden displays
“While this exhibit was one of the larger installations we have undertaken and required a full five days to complete, the result was inspiring,” said Steele. “We are proud to use our large format printing services to celebrate our country and the wonderful diversity that makes America so special.”
