Consultant for Amazon Sellers and Partner at Buy Box Experts to Speak at Chicago B2B Event
Industry: Retail & eCommerce
Leader of respected Amazon account management firm to speak at upcoming business-to-business conference about thriving in spite of competition from Amazon.
Chicago, IL (PRUnderground) September 4th, 2019
As a former Amazon leader, James Thomson understands better than most how difficult it can be to achieve brand recognition and sales growth in a crowded marketplace. Thomson will share strategies for helping business-to-business sellers overcome obstacles to online selling as he represents Buy Box Experts, the Amazon marketing consultant firm he now helps lead, at a B2B conference.
Thomson and his seasoned leadership team at Buy Box Experts draw on their vast experience in the trenches of online selling to help their clients with Amazon account management and branding strategies . They have managed over $2 billion in Amazon revenue and helped over 10,000 Amazon sellers increase their total sales.
Buy Box Experts provides both business-to-business and business-to-customer companies customized guidance as well as proprietary software that slashes waste and inefficiency by automating time-consuming processes. This easy-to-use software can analyze the competition, research products, decrease counterfeit listings, forecast inventory, optimize listings, and more.
Thomson will be presenting at the B2B Next Conference and Exhibition in Chicago starting on September 30. He said that business-to-business sellers are often afraid of Amazon’s next big disruption. However, with the proper tools, they can protect their market share.
“If B2B companies develop smart strategies now, they can be ready for Amazon’s twists and turns and set themselves up for success,” said Thomson.
Thomson will be teaching two workshops:
- Winning on Amazon: Thomson will discuss strategies that brands can use to control Amazon selling processes and stop unauthorized sellers from interfering with their business.
- Regaining Brand Control on Amazon While Maximizing Revenue and Profit:
This strategy-intensive session will help sellers compete shrewdly for customer attention and relevance by knowing when to partner with Amazon vs. compete with them and how to evaluate and fortify product offerings.
Before joining the team at Buy Box Experts, Thomson served as the business head of Amazon Services, the division of Amazon responsible for recruiting tens of thousands of sellers annually to the Amazon marketplace. He also served as the first Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) account manager.
He is the author of “The Amazon Marketplace Dilemma ” geared toward brand executives seeking to control their brands on the Amazon marketplace. He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing (B2B Pricing and Distribution) from Northwestern University (Kellogg School).
Thomson has guest lectured at more than a dozen top business schools around the world, including Stanford University, University of Michigan, University of Notre Dame, and Manchester University. He has also been featured in many publications, including The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Forbes, Entrepreneur, Inc., CNBC, Bloomberg, and more.
Thomson said that it is an honor for Buy Box Experts to be associated with the B2B Next Conference.
“This is a relatively new event, but it has already become a prime meeting place for movers and shakers in the B2B community,” said Thomson.
The conference caters to senior executives driving digital transformations at B2B companies. It will feature more than 44 e-commerce experts leading panels and workshops. The conference will take place from September 30 through October 2 at the Hilton Chicago hotel.
