Technology Futurist Ian Khan delivered a powerful and highly relevant keynote session at the Ascobancaria Cybersecurity & Fraud Prevention Conference in Cartagena, Colombia.
Speaking to a senior decision maker audience from over 60 banks and a total of over 300 attendees from Colombia’s financial sector, Ian Khan highlighted the key challenges when it comes to protecting data, preventing hacks and planning for the future of the banking industry in Colombia.
“The Baking and Financial sector have to look at the root cause of data loss, hacking and the emerging world of information being stolen. It is no longer that information is being illegally taken by criminals, but its about data points and a wealth of knowledge about users, user behavior, and personal information being exposed that is a bigger threat” said Khan. The session also focused on creating a culture, education, accountability, partnerships and execution rather than focusing only on technology. As of 2019 the damage done by Hackers has reached a staggering $1.5 Trillion dollars worldwide. ian Khan is one of the leading Technology Futurists in the region.
Within Colombia, government regulators and the private sector are working hand in hand to create awareness about financial and non financial risk through various forums that are organized by industry associations, including this one by Ascobancaria.
