Adding to her list of live television credits, including The Voice, American Idol, and the GRAMMY Awards telecast, violinist Christine Wu has now appeared live with Billy Ray Cyrus on CNN. Mr. Cyrus, his daughter Brandi, and Wu performed “Hope is Just Ahead” on the September 19, 2013 broadcast of Piers Morgan Live.
A violinist since age 3, Wu made the risky decision in 2006 to leave her tenured position with the Houston Symphony Orchestra, to pursue a career in the recording, television, and film industry. She has since become solo violinist and cellist for such industry legends as David Foster, Paul Anka, and Lorne Balfe. She’s arranged and performed strings with a long and diverse list of A-list musical artists, including Beyoncé, Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand, Andrea Bocelli, A.R. Rahman, and Bono, to name a few.
Christine Wu is also a composer, cellist, filmmaker, and ballerina. Working from her Santa Monica studio, she composes original string arrangements for rock, pop, country, and urban records, as well as movie trailers and commercial jingles. Several of her artistic films featuring her original music were recently featured on PBS. Christine can currently be heard on the Original Motion Picture Soundtracks for Salinger and The Frozen Ground.
