On Wednesday, 30 October 2013, Uncubed, the largest tech startup job fair in the US, is kicking off in Chicago. Recognized for its unorthodox approach to helping startups find the right candidates, Uncubed invites a handful of Chicago’s most popular startups to meet and chat with attendees about their companies, products, and job opportunities.

Emerging companies, along with some of the largest names in tech, have attended previous Uncubed events in New York, Boston, Berlin, San Francisco and Los Angeles. These include Dropbox, Evernote, Mozilla, Spotify, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Etsy, Groupon and hundreds of others. For Chicago Uncubed, over thirty exciting companies will join in on the fun. They include Razorfish, 1871, ifbyphone, Singlehop, Cater2me and many more.

Combining music, drinks, live art, contests, and inspiring discussions, Uncubed has become a wildly successful destination for creative thinkers and startups to connect in a high-energy atmosphere. Past speakers have included Tumblr founder David Karp, Vimeo’s co-founder Josh Abramson, and Twitter’s Chief Scientist, Abdur Chowdhury.

In celebration of Halloween, Chicago UNCUBED will hold the first ever “best costume” contest. From Walter White to witches and werewolves, we are expecting a competitive display on both sides of the startup table as job seekers and recruiters alike compete for the title of “best dressed.”  Feel free to dazzle and impress us with your stellar costume creativity.

Chicago Uncubed kicks off with morning workshops where attendees will get helpful tips on navigating the startup landscape with classes on How to Get a Gig at a Startup and Responsive Web Design among others.

Classes give way to the main event where companies will show off their culture, products and job opportunities to attendees with backgrounds and skills in design, software development, marketing, and more.

The speaker panel discussions will coincide with the main event, giving attendees an opportunity to take a break and learn a thing or two from inspiring industry leaders. Panels in Chicago include:

How I Got Uncubed, where panelists tell how they left corporate jobs to work for startups. The Wolf: Technical Experts Brought in to Deal with Impending Technical Disasters, and Happy Hours: Mastering the Craft of Office Culture with a panel of startup founders and CEOs.
