Buy Box Experts, an Amazon marketing agency, is joining forces with three other Utah-based companies to deliver fast relief to residents of Cebu, Philippines left without power, water, food, and shelter in the wake of Typhoon Rai.

Buy Box Experts (BBE), an Amazon account management firm based in Utah, is joining with three local companies to provide immediate aid to Filipinos after Typhoon Rai battered their homes and infrastructure in mid-December.
BBE, which employs many people in the Philippines to support their global Amazon marketing services, has been able to leverage their contacts to provide fast relief while local governments and other disaster relief efforts are still in the process of assessing basic needs.
“As far as we’ve learned, it will be weeks and months before supplies are replenished and power is fully restored. We are blessed to have access to purchase resources and to be working with so many selfless and determined people across many organizations to take action immediately and provide critical measures of relief,” said Joseph Hansen, CEO and Founder of BBE.
Within six days of the typhoon pummeling the Cebu area of the Philippines, BBE had helped purchase, ship, and arrange for distribution of:
- 1,500 bottles of water
- 100 water purification bottles
- 10,000 water purification tablets
- 20 mass water purification systems
- 1,000 filters and emergency kits/food
“We are heartbroken at the devastation to their homes and community. Super Typhoon Rai has wreaked havoc on the Cebu area with many of the people having no access to clean water, food, and power,” said Hansen.
The team of Amazon consultants at BBE has set up a GoFundMe account and plans to continue working closely with businesses in the U.S. and Philippines (including Utah emergency preparedness company ReadyWise) to deliver assistance to over 1,000 people in the Cebu area in the form of water, food, and emergency supplies. They also plan to help residents rebuild their homes.

Typhoon Rai, known in the Philippines as “Odette,” was a category 5-equivalent super typhoon, responsible for killing over 400 people and displacing over 300,000 people, many of whom were still trying to rebuild after last year’s storms.
