Borboleta Launched Special Handmade Fashionable Handbags Collection To Support Breakfast And Educational Charities

One can find plenty of retailers out in the market that sell hand bags and clutches. But not many sell purses that serve a noble purpose. Borboleta is an obvious exception. The fashion company sells purses, a percentage of which is offered to various charitable causes.

For every handbag sold, the company donates a part of its profit to breakfast and educational programs on The Ocean of Wisdom Foundation. “We are sponsoring breakfast for over 100 students in the north of Thailand every day. It all happened during happy Christmas holiday on my sophomore year in college. I was vacationing in Phuket in 2004 when the Boxing Day Tsunami hit. I had plans to chill on the beach, but the last-minute change of decision saved my life. While returning from Phuket’s adventure activity, I saw death, whole sale devastation, and swarms of vacationers looking for lost loved ones. I could not ignore the catastrophe though I had planned to return to Bangkok, and so I decided to stay on. I volunteered for a week, using my English and Thai to translate between medical staff and tourists, and to help vacationers find their loved ones. There were happy reunions, but not everyone found their family members. This experience deeply saddened me, but it inspired me to action.” said Veronica Race in a deep voice.

“That is when the Ocean of Wisdom Foundation in 2007 with a mission to improve the lives of underprivileged students in Thailand. Currently OWF works with two schools in northern Thailand that educate the local Hill Tribe communities. Proceeds from Borboleta Bag, along with donors from the United States, Europe, and Thailand, provide the funds necessary to keep kids in school.” she added.
