Guy Fawkes would no doubt be astonished to hear his unsuccessful attempt to blow up the House of Parliament (and indeed King James 1st) is still marked over 400 years later. Especially considering the lengths, we go to. While some of us still enjoy small gatherings of family and friends, larger organised bonfire and firework events are now one of the most common way of celebrating.
Soughton Hall Hotel, one of the region’s most beautiful wedding venues in Cheshire, is ideally located to venture out and watch some of the regions fantastic, organised fireworks displays.
Indeed, Health and Safety concerns have caused a huge leap in organised events in the region, if you’re heading out in on Saturday 5th November, here are a few of the local organised events!
Chester: Chester Lions Firework Fun Night at Chester Racecourse, CH1 2LY. Funfair, food, and live music. Toddler’s fireworks 6.45pm, main display 7.30pm. Tickets available at the gate for £5 per person, children under seven are free.
Oulton Park: Neil Howard Stage Rally with a bonfire and spectacular firework display to follow. Oulton Park, Little Budworth, Tarporley, Cheshire CW6 9BW.
Mickle Trafford: The Shrewsbury Arms, Warrington Road, Chester CH2 4EB are hosting a fireworks display to raise funds for Mickle Trafford Village School. There’ll be a BBQ, hot drinks, raffle and more. Tickets are £2.50 individually or £10 per family of four (larger families can pay £2 for additional tickets).
Winsford: The Rotary Club of Winsford and Middlewich are organising a display in aid of local charities and organisations. Find it at Barton Stadium, Winsford, CW7 3AE. Gates open at 6pm, admission costs £6 for adults, £3 for children or a family ticket is £15.
