Between the Bread, the iconic catering and fast casual eatery, announced today the grand opening of its third NYC location in West Chelsea. The new, rustic-industrial themed eatery, which is Between The Bread’s largest, is located in the historic Terminal Warehouse in Chelsea at 27th street and 11th Avenue, and will offer health-conscious New Yorkers a chance to build a better lunch, choosing from the day’s choices of fresh proteins, grains and vegetables.
Between The Bread, which started as a small grab and go eatery on East 56th Street and then branched out into a catering service for upscale corporations, is now returning to its retail roots by bringing their seasonally-based, small kettle dishes to New Yorkers everywhere. The new Chelsea Terminal Warehouse location will offer larger tables, more seating space, a great ambiance, and small batch cooking.
CEO Jon Eisen credits the eatery’s success to the growing number of millennial workers who are looking for a quality, natural lunch that offers good value but doesn’t bust their wallet. “We go to great lengths to make our eatery a place you actively want to visit,” says Eisen. “The ambience we establish is just as important as the quality of the ingredients we use. We think our customers will enjoy grabbing a healthy lunch at one of our farm tables, all while observing our top chefs preparing their meals in our open glass kitchen.”
Between The Bread’s most popular offering is their seasonal plate – consisting of a protein and two sides, or alternatively a 3-sides option for vegetarians. All of the cups, bags, containers and serve ware used in their meals are compostable or biodegradable, and the company is actively pushing composting and recycling in their locations. Seasonal plates cost $11.50 (chicken) to $13.25 (fish); Salads and sandwiches run about $8-$12, and breakfast ranges from $2.95 for muffins to $8.50 for an Acai bowl.
“We offer people a unique alternative to the typical fast casual restaurant,” says Eisen. “Our focus is on offering affordable, natural, sophisticated meals from an ever-changing seasonal menu centered upon design-themes of community and eco-friendliness.”
