Bestselling Amazon novelist James Shipman will appear at the Emerald City ComiCon March 28th to March 30th at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle Washington.
James Shipman’s latest book, Constantinopolis, recounts the legendary Siege of Constantinople of 1453 (CreateSpace, $12.97 paperback, $2.99 Kindle). Constantinople is the impregnable jewel of the East. It has stood as the greatest Christian city for a millennium as hordes of would-be invaders have met their defeat at its walls. But Mehmet the Conqueror, the youthful and ambitious Sultan of the Ottoman Empire intends against formidable odds to lay siege against the city.
On the other side of the walls of Constantinople, however, the reigning emperor of the Byzantine Empire, Constantine XI Palaiologos, knows that the city over which he rules is no longer as formidable as it once was. Yet he is determined to save his beloved city.
Two leaders, two peoples, two faiths battle for their future before the mighty walls of Constantinople.
His next book, Going Home, based on a true story set in the Civil War, is a tragic drama of redemption and recovery. The protagonist, Joseph Forsyth is the son of an alcoholic father who nearly ruins his son’s life. Joseph finds his trust betrayed as people time and again take advantage of him in business, in love, and life in time of war. Ultimately, Joseph is faced with a painful choice: He must choose between letting others continue taking advantage of him—even if it means the loss of his family—or to start rebuilding a new life and a new destiny for himself. As we commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War Going Home promises to offer readers new insight into the costs of codependency and misplaced trust.
