Planning on heading out this weekend to celebrate Bonfire Night? Organised firework displays are now the norm for the majority of us. From a safety point of view alone; it’s far better to leave the handling of explosives to the experts! The days of lighting a solitary rocket, scurrying across a wet lawn, risking life and limb, are now a thing of the past (unless that’s your preference!).

Here at the Corn Exchange we have compiled a list of some of the best Bonfire Events this Saturday November 5th. If you REALLY want to take the hassle out of Bonfire Night, why not joins us before hand for a bite to eat in one of our family restaurants in Manchester? With a large selection of some of the best restaurants in Manchester, from delicious Italian pizza to Indian street food, you really are spoilt for choice!

Here’s our list of recommended events:

HEATON PARK: The bonfire will be lit at 7.30pm, followed by fireworks. One of Manchester’s most famous outdoor spaces, there is even a funfair for the little ones! Free entry. Heaton Park, Middleton Road, Higher Blackley, M25 2SW

FALLOWFIELD: Platt Field’s outdoor event also has a funfair from 5pm to 9.30pm. The bonfire will be lit at 7.30pm, with fireworks afterwards. Free entry. Platt Fields Park, Wilmslow Road, Fallowfield, Manchester, M14 6LA

CHORLTON: The Horse and Jockey pub’s fantastic Bonfire Night celebration has become something of an institution to those living in and around Chorlton. With a children’s firework display on Chorlton Green at 7pm and another for the grown-ups at 9pm. Free entry. Horse and Jockey, 9 Chorlton Green, Chorlton, M21 9HS

WYTHENSHAWE: Wythenshawe Park’s fireworks display starts at 7.30pm. There will also be a funfair from 5pm to 9.30pm. Wythenshawe Park, Wythenshawe Road, M23 0AB
