Author Correy Cottle, Sr. is announcing the release of his latest fiction work, a thriller, Tainted Souls, available starting February 10.

Cottle says the thriller is filled with secrets and suspense. “Twenty-eight years ago, Detective Michael Flowers found himself entangled in the twisted sadistic mind games of Norman Thompson, Sr., a suspect in the disappearance of three high school cheerleaders,” the description says, “Now, once again, the tranquility of his town is pulled back to unearth a psychic darkness born in the shadows of upper middle class luxury. The body of a college student is found hanging from the roof of the University’s main building. Detective Flowers knows this is the work of a psychotic devil.”

Cottle, a multi-faceted creative, also writes major motion picture and television scripts, comedies, and commercials. “I believe in having a table of multiple creative pieces,” he says, “As Black creatives, we need to stop fighting to sit at other people’s tables, and instead, concentrate on creating our own.”

Understanding the theory of creating pilots, coupled with what he characterizes as his God-given talent to have a crazy vision, Cottle says, “It helps me to understand how to create good content that people are screaming for. In 2003 I started reading books on writing movie treatments and movie script structure. The next year I enrolled in a writing master class at the Gotham writers school in New York. I have given up so many times because of not having faith in what I was building.”

One of Cottle’s works is a cartoon about a 7-member multi-generational Black family living in the country, working in agriculture, and running a store. The cartoon will also be a platform for black country music recording artists. He’s submitted the intro to major entertainment and streaming networks for consideration.
Cottle is also launching a production company, Believe The Vision. “It was always easy for me to deeply visualize good, compelling concepts,” he says, “Every time I communicated an idea to someone, I would tell them to believe the vision.”

“I always felt that I can do a lot better than a lot of storytellers out there,” he says, “creating amazing content that people will talk about for years to come. My vision is to create my own production company that will build strong, long-lasting credibility, so when you see the name, there’s no need to question it: Believe The Vision Production.’
Cottle is planning to release four books in 2021, Tainted Souls, Backbone, GPS: You Have Arrived, and Taken In Blood. Additionally, he’s working on seven movie scripts.

Cottle’s professional background includes a nearly 20-year sales career. However, for the last 15 years he’s been devoting more and more attention to his creative works. “These concepts have been on my spirit for a long time,” he says, “And I’m confident I can produce stories that people will find compelling.”
