The Creekstone’s exterior embodies what people think of when describing a typical Prairie-style home. You can see it in the low-pitched hipped roof, widely overhanging eaves, and massive squared porch supports. But this an update of that style, so the interior is fully in tune with the wants and needs of a 21st century family.

Its lofty front porch boasts a 10-foot ceiling, and inside, the foyer ceiling is equally high. Double doors on the right open into a conveniently located office. Across the hall, another set of doors leads into an even larger space that could be furnished as either a parlor or dining room. A hutch nestles into an alcove at the rear where a pocket door provides a close link to the kitchen.

Heading straight ahead through the foyer takes you into the great room. But before arriving there, you pass an opening on the right that leads to secondary bedrooms and a two-section bathroom. The longer hallway on the left is lined with closets and an entry hutch. It runs past the kitchen plus a powder room and a utility room before terminating in a large and luxurious owners’ suite with a deep walk-in closet.

Family gathering places flow together at the rear, where light spills in through windows on both sides of the vaulted great room’s gas fireplace. More light washes into the nook through a set of atrium doors, one of which opens onto a partially covered patio. A conversation bar and a drop in ceiling height mark the line where the great room transitions into the kitchen.

A roomy pantry fills one entire corner of the Creekstone’s nicely designed kitchen, while a raised eating bar rims the kitchen/nook boundary.
