Taiwo Oyinloye, better known as John Tony, has just released his debut single “Would You Mind?”
“Would You Mind?” is a hip hop/pop track that offers assurance and expresses adoration for a special person. It was written during a period of time when he was doing everything he could to get someone’s attention, even though it didn’t end in his favor. Tony’s music preaches love and the desire for a good life. The artist’s ultimate desire is that his audience will embrace the true virtues of love through his music — willingness to go all the way and be there for one another.
Growing up in Lagos, Nigeria, John Tony learned to be resilient and optimistic. The artist credits the people of his community and the dauntless way they live their lives with teaching him the intrinsic virtues of love. He believes the first way to truly connect with another person is through their mind and he relies on his personal life experiences to create that connection between himself and others.
Heavily influenced by Drake, Juice Wrld, and Playboi Carti, John Tony feels comfortable in many genres. Hip hop, R&B, Pop, and Afrobeats are all accessed in the artist’s own unique way throughout his music.

John Tony was raised Taiwo Oyinloye in Lagos, Nigeria. Currently based in Canada, where he moved shortly after high school, the artist is primed and ready to release his debut single to the world. Tony uses his unique upbringing and deep self-introspection to create his music.
