Fundraising is kicking into high gear for non-profits, with October ushering in observances like Breast Cancer and AIDS Awareness and November and December marking the biggest giving months of the year. As companies struggle to find the best way to capitalize on these events in a Covid-world, Andrew Roby Events is helping them achieve balance with hybrid events.
Andrew Roby Events is a premier black-owned event planning company. While it is based in Washington D.C., the company also serves the Los Angeles and Dallas areas for corporate and non-profit events, fundraisers, social gatherings, and weddings. Founder Andrew Roby said that while the pandemic is still lingering, many people are feeling more comfortable getting out and mingling.
“If organizations feel best about a virtual event, they should follow their gut. However, with the proper CDC protocols and safety considerations, those wanting to create a hybrid event can achieve the best of both worlds,” said Roby. “Most people attend events to get out of the normal environments, and a hybrid event can really serve to meet that human interaction need while still accommodating those who prefer to participate from home.”
Hybrid events, which offer the best of digital and in-person, are becoming the norm for many gatherings, and Roby says that he thinks this will continue even after the pandemic. “These events increase participation for those who may be unable to attend for a variety of reasons beyond just Covid concerns. Maybe people are out of town or feeling under the weather or don’t want to deal with road traffic. Hybrid events bridge these gaps.”
Roby said that 53% of non-profits start their end-of-the-year appeals in October, culminating with December as the highwater mark of fundraising. Roby said he is actively working to help non-profits broaden their reach through hybrid event production as many try to recover from a dismal 2020 fundraising season hobbled by Covid.
Roby is well-known in the industry for his commitment to diversity, which makes his company a good fit for helping organizations celebrate such October events as LGBT History and Global Diversity Awareness Month. He is the Founder and CEO of the National Events Council, which champions diversity, equity, and inclusion in the events industry.
Andrew Roby was named a Top 500 U.S. Event Professional by BizBash and honored with the 40 Under 40 Award for Corporate Events by Connect Corporate. He also won Wedding Wire’s Couples’ Choice Award for wedding planners. To learn more about the Andrew Roby Events team and their hybrid event planning services, visit AndrewRobyEvents.com.
