American Sentinel University Recognizes Students for Academic Excellence During 2016 Summer Semester

AURORA, Colo. (PRUnderground) December 15th, 2016

American Sentinel University named 312 undergraduate students to the 2016 Summer Dean’s List, which recognizes undergraduate students for academic excellence in the nursing and healthcare management programs during the 2016 summer semester.

Eligibility for the Dean’s List is based on the cumulative grade point average for all coursework of 3.9 or higher and a semester grade point average of 3.9 or higher for undergraduate students who started and completed two courses for the period of May through August 2016.

The 2016 Summer Dean’s List accounts for nearly 12 percent of American Sentinel’s active student population and includes undergraduates from the nursing and healthcare management programs.

“We’ve created a culture where nurses can advance their education to provide high-quality care and promote health and well-being,” says Judy Burckhardt, Ph.D., MAEd, MSN, RN, Dean, Nursing and Healthcare Programs at American Sentinel University.

“American Sentinel is uniquely positioned to drive healthcare transformation through education. We are proud of the academic achievements of our nursing and healthcare management students.  Their coursework in our CCNE and ACEN-accredited programs enable them to enhance their current skills and prepares them for roles as nurse leaders, administrators, and researchers.”

Dr. Burckhardt says many of the University’s students and graduates who have been honored on the Dean’s list play important roles at some of the nation’s top hospitals and healthcare organizations.

Currently, American Sentinel students and graduates work at more than 300 healthcare facilities and organizations throughout the U.S. including Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Kaiser Permanente, Geisinger Health System, Maury Regional Medical Center, Spectrum Health, Centura Health and Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

American Sentinel University has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report for the third consecutive year as one of the best online graduate nursing programs among public and private universities in the nation.

“In all that we do, our greatest achievement and honor is to position students for success in the future of their industries. We are proud to honor the 2016 Summer Dean’s List,” says Devon Putnam, Director of Student Success and Retention at American Sentinel University.
