American Sentinel University and Colorado Hospital Association named Frannie Johnson, Breast Nurse Navigator, with UCHealth Gloria Gossard Breast Care Center, as a Colorado Health Care Star Award winner. This award recognizes Johnson as an exceptional health care professional.
Colorado Health Care Stars is a statewide health care professional award recognition program sponsored by American Sentinel University and Colorado Hospital Association. The program was launched in February 2015 to acknowledge industry professionals in Colorado who exceed expectations in the delivery of health care.
Johnson navigates patients affected by breast cancer through the continuum of care including ensuring that patients are seen in a timely manner and receiving the life-saving diagnostic and therapeutic treatments necessary for survival. Steamboat is a small, rural community that lacks many of the resources larger cities offer.
“Frannie goes above and beyond on a daily basis and is known as a team player,” said Lindsay Jacox, Director of Imaging at UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center. “In our small town, she creates lasting impressions with her patients. On any given day, no matter the venue, patients know Frannie Johnson — they know who she is, what she does and at least one person, if not many, have had Frannie change their lives for the better.”
“Committed healthcare professionals like Frannie who fight for their patients among a sometimes complicated treatment process are a true inspiration,” says Michael Rickart, Vice President of Partner Engagement for American Sentinel University. “We’re thrilled our partnership with the Colorado Hospital Association allows us to honor her achievements and to recognize her as a Colorado Health Star.”
