Health Care Provider Continuing to Grow Throughout Connecticut

Torrington, CT (PRUnderground) November 7th, 2018

American Family Care (AFC) is pleased to announce it will soon open a new urgent care center that will provide high-quality health care to the residents of Torrington and Litchfield County as well as create more than a dozen new local jobs.  AFC is the nation’s leading provider of  walk-in urgent care, primary care and occupational medicine. The new Torrington facility will open on 1171 East Main St. in March of 2019.

“We’re excited to continue fulfilling our mission of making quality health care accessible and economical with the opening of our location in Torrington,” said Tom Kelly, independent owner and operator of 6 other Connecticut AFC locations. “We provide a patient-centric approach, putting the patient first by providing high-level customer service with high-level care, a rare hospitality mindset in a medical facility,” says Kelly.

Over the past 36 years, AFC has pioneered the concept of non-emergency room urgent care and expanded its footprint across 26 states with 200 locations nationwide. All AFC walk-in clinics are designed, equipped and staffed to provide accessible primary care, urgent care and minor emergency treatment. Each clinic features a high-tech approach, including digital x-rays, on-site lab testing, state-of-the-art diagnostics and electronic medical records. The clinics are staffed by kind, caring and compassionate health care professionals.

“AFC is a proven asset to any medical community. Not only do our facilities help reduce the burden of overworked emergency rooms, but they also cut back the wait time for patients with non-life-threatening emergencies,” Kelly says. “Our objective has always been to offer, fast, efficient and affordable care and to have patients treated and out the door in as little as 30 – 45 minutes.”

AFC walk in clinics also feature a full suite of occupational medicine and workers’ compensation services. These services include OSHA-mandated medical surveillance exams, D.O.T. and non-D.O.T. drug screens and physicals, and breath alcohol tests, among many other services.

Like all other AFC facilities in Connecticut, the new Torrington location will be open seven days a week, Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., no appointment is needed. Most major insurance plans will be accepted, with self-pay rates available as well.

About AFC Urgent Care Danbury

In 2005 an emergency room physician realized that there must be a more efficient and affordable system for urgent care than what was available at the time. AFC Urgent Care was formed that year, with the firm belief that medical care should be convenient, of the highest quality, compassionate and brought to patients at a value price. And it’s catching on: since then, AFC Urgent Care has grown to over 80 walk- in urgent care centers throughout the United States. Danbury CT is home to 3 centers, at 2 Main Street in Danbury, 100 Mill Plain Road, and a third at 74 Newtown Road, very close to the Bethel border. Treating everything from cuts and bruises to fractures, colds and everything in between, AFC Urgent Care offers on-site labs, x-rays, prescriptions, and Board certified physicians, PA’s and APRN’s on staff every day offering all the tools needed to provide top-notch service to the community. They are open from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and accept most insurance. For more information, please visit AFCUrgentCareDanbury.com
