AMDA (American Musical and Dramatic Academy) Alumni Nominated for Tonys

Alumni of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Jeremy Pope and Sarah Stiles, have been nominated for 2019 Tony Awards.

Jeremy Pope became only the 6^th performer in the history of the Tony Awards to be nominated for two awards in the same year, with his nominations for “Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play” and “Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical.” Sarah Stiles was nominated for the honor of “Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical.”

AMDA alumni Jarvis B. Manning, Jr. and Taylor Symmone-Jackson join Jeremy Pope in the Tony nominated “Best Musical,” Ain’t Too Proud. King Kong (starring AMDA alumni Jena VanElslander and Jon Hoche) and The Prom (starring AMDA alumni Christopher Sieber, Teddy Toye, and Vasthy Mompoint) have also received Tony award nominations.

Three AMDA alumni have been selected as presenters at this year’s Tony Awards: Anthony Ramos, Christopher Jackson, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
