About Frost Museum of Science

Although this facility has been around since 1949, it recently reopened in its new location, on May 8, 2017, after it had closed the doors at its previous home 4 miles to the south on Aug. 30, 2015. That move was made possible thanks to Phillip and Patricia Frost, who donated $35 million to construct the new building, and both locals and visitors have been streaming to the beautiful museum ever since.

What many remember the most from their visit to Frost Science is the spacious 500,000-gallon, 100-foot long aquarium, which provides an opportunity to see many of the sea animals that the Sunshine State is known for up close including hammerhead sharks, devil rays, and mahi-mahi.

Meanwhile, those who have always looked up at the sky with wonder will most likely want to visit Frost Science’s planetarium, a facility that provides an opportunity to gaze at its vast dome screen, which offers 16-million-color 8K projection.
