Socially Aware Syracuse Teacher & Kickboxing Instructor Provide Healthy Vending Options to Local Community

Throughout Syracuse area schools and organizations, one couple is making a big difference in a healthy way. Identifying a need for healthy snack and beverage options in their city, Chris and Brianna Stalker brought InstaHealthy Vending to Syracuse, NY. According to the New York State Department of Health, obesity rates for children in Onondaga County school districts are averaging a whopping 33%, creating a hefty need for healthier food options in schools and organizations. Skaneateles YMCA & Community Center, one of the locations featuring two InstaHealthy vending machines, offers the healthier snack options to members and outside sports groups as an alternative to candy, chips & soda filled junk food vending machines. “All of our members, especially our hockey & swim teams, love the healthy & nutritious options,” says Stephanie Bales, Membership Director at the Skaneateles YMCA.
