Enjoying a break on the island of Mallorca can offer you so much more than just a typical beach holiday, Majorca has a whole host of things to see and do, all of which will enhance your experience and make your holiday even more enjoyable. Variation is certainly on Mallorca’s side as you will find something to suit everyone’s interests be it shopping, culture, history or sports. Of course, it really is up to you what you do whilst on holiday, but should you decide to spend a day away from the many wonderful beaches you will find plenty to see and do.

One such must see is just a short drive from the Villa Holiday resort of Puerto Pollenca; Located on the northern tip of Mallorca is the Cap de Formentor. The peninsula offers wonderfully scenic views along with plenty of sandy beaches to be enjoyed. The journey takes you through coastal roads, offering you stunning views of the region’s coastline and carries on through pine woods and even through a mountain tunnel. At the end of the route you will reach an old lighthouse complete with bar and shop, on a clear day it is possible to see across to Menorca.

Another beauty spot that is memorable to visit anytime of the year is Sa Calobra on the western coast of Mallorca. Renowned for being one of the most perfect and unspoilt coves, Sa Calobra offers visitors a wonderful beach within a natural freshwater amphitheatre. Once again like many of Mallorca’s beauty spots the drive is just as enjoyable as the destination itself. The road ascends 800 metres over 12 kilometres and at one point even loops under itself and is known as the Knotted Tie, certainly something you will remember for years to come!

These are just two locations with you could visit during a stay in our properties such as ourVillas in Puerto Pollensa. Once you discover all that the island has to offer you will find that the hardest part is finding the time to fit everything in; One reason why so many people return year after year to Mallorca.
