The Hollingsworth Companies will be tripling Service Center Metals Remelt Facility in Price George Virginia. Service Center Metals, a 2001 start up, doubled the size of their aluminum extrusion plant with a facility developed by The Hollingsworth Companies in 2005. Their success continued with the addition of a stand-alone recycling Remelt Facility in 2013 also designed and constructed by the Hollingsworth Companies. The building will have a clear height of 40’, with wide 100’ column spacing and ‘green’ features, such as energy efficient T5 fluorescent fixtures and clerestory daylighting. The building will be complete in Q3 of 2016, with custom manufacturing equipment to be installed and online in Q1 2017.
The addition of 190,000 square feet to the Remelt building will increase the total amount of industrial space to 320,000 square feet for Service Center Metals at this location. “Prince George County is a phenomenal business partner,” said Tom Wortham, Senior Vice President of Architecture & Development for the Hollingsworth Companies. “It’s dedicated and flexible labor pool, pro-business attitude and proximity to three interstates have attracted companies from other regions of the nation and around the globe. Service Center Metals has, with this talented group of workers, set the worldwide benchmark for aluminum extrusion efficiency. This is why global companies like Rolls Royce Aerospace have also located in Prince George County and continue to grow their business there. We are happy to be a catalyst for that growth.”
SouthPoint Business Park, founded by The Hollingsworth Companies in 1997, has been the recipient of the National Associations of Counties award for the “Best Semi-Rural Economic Development Public-Private Partnership in the Nation”. The Hollingsworth Companies has already delivered ten buildings to various clients and see no sign of this pace slowing down. The business park includes Build-to-Suit and Finish-to-Suit projects ranging in size from 52,000 square feet to 270,000 square feet. This park includes a Fund-to-Suite project of 155,000 square feet requiring over $20M in start-up funding. Other companies that have located at SouthPoint Business Park in prince George County, Virginia include: Virginia Seal Products, US Merchants, Diamond Hill Plywood, Metl-Span Corp., CaroCon and Goya Foods.
