Specialist transport refrigeration manufacturer is participating in Offshore Northern Seas (ONS) 2014 in Stavanger, Norway. The event is one of the premier exhibitions and conferences for the offshore oil and gas industry and will be held from 25th to 28th August 2014, at the Stavanger Forum.
Stavanger is considered to be one of Europe’s energy capitals and is often called the oil capital of Europe. The Scandinavian city is home to one of the world’s largest oil companies, Statoil. In fact, Forbes ranked Statoil as the 20th largest oil company in the world.
Held biennially, ONS attracts 60,000 attendees to Stavanger. Visitors of the conference will hear from key players in the international oil and gas industry and ministers and officials from oil and gas producing countries. Visitors also have access to the latest innovations from approximately 1250 leading oil and gas companies.
Additionally, ONS features two parks that bring forth the industry’s top issues for discussion and debate. The Innovation Park focuses on the oil and gas industry’s increasing reliance on cutting-edge technology. The Clean Energy Park will have a special focus on clean energy.
Klinge Corporation to introduce special Offshore Refrigerated Containers
At ONS 2014, Klinge Corporation will feature their Offshore Refrigerated Containers that are specially built for the oil & gas industry. The refrigeration systems are explosion-proof and are designed specifically to withstand the hazardous conditions often encountered in the industry.
The equipment is certified to the EU’s ATEX Directive, which contains stringent safety guidelines for machinery used in potentially explosive environments (such as offshore installations). The Offshore Refrigerated Containers are rated for hazardous Zone 1 and Zone 2 areas (where gas Safe Zone operation can not be guaranteed).
On Offshore installations—including FPSO, FLNG and FPU—it is specifically challenging to avoid accidental gas leaks, so hazardous Zone 2 electrical equipment has become more commonly used.
Klinge Corporation’s refrigeration systems can be delivered on DNV 2.7-1 10ft or 20ft containers as well as on standard reefer containers up to 40ft long.
