In order to manufacture high quality and highly reliable tooling for the woodworking industry, it is necessary to acquire new machine tools to reduce setup and machining time. This year Vexor Custom Woodworking Tools added two machines to advance their tooling capabilities, speed production and keep pricing affordable.
The Vexor Custom Woodworking Tools lathe department expanded with an Okuma Genos L400, equipped with Capto quick change Sandvik tooling and Hainbuch quick change work holding capabilities.
The milling department was also expanded with a Mazak VCU 400A 5X five axis milling machine, equipped with Renishaw probe and Hainbuch quick change work holding capabilities.
Adopting the Hainbuch work holding systems allows for fast change over from jaws, vises, collets, and expanding mandrels. The mandrels allow for any tools needed to hold on the I.D. to have high accuracy, with almost no run out. The Renishaw probe and probe software helps reduce setup time, it allows for in-cycle gauging and first-off inspection of parts with automatic offset updates, not to mention tool setting. With the exception of five axis grinders, Vexor Custom Woodworking Tools is now completely programming off-line. All machines in the plant are now being programmed with Mastercam or Espirit. This allows for much less down time.
