An integral part of the Denver metro area, Rocky Mountain Forest Products (RMFP) opened its doors in 1974. Since then, it has grown to be the largest cedar wood supplier in Colorado and has served over one million Colorado customers. RMFP joined Wheels of Justice this year as a Team Courage Sponsor to support Children’s Hospital Colorado’s annual Courage Classic Bicycle Tour in Copper Mountain, Colorado, on July 16 and 17, 2022.
Rocky Mountain Forest Products faced significant setbacks during the 1980s recession as a burgeoning company. Faced with the possibility of having to close its doors for good, the company reinvented itself. By diversifying its products, taking a proactive marketing approach, and streamlining its operations, it not only survived but grew into a leading Denver lumberyard. Having been through tough times, RMFP strives to give back to the people and communities that supported them and with whom they continue to do business.
“We are proud to be a Team Courage Sponsor of this year’s Courage Classic Bicycle Tour,” said Taylor Poole, Chief Growth Officer for Rocky Mountain Forest Products. “The work the physicians, nurses, and staff at Children’s Hospital Colorado does is vital in helping kids with cancer and many other life-threatening illnesses overcome their physical challenges and thrive. It is a cause that every Coloradan can get behind.”
Children’s Hospital Colorado has hosted the Courage Classic Bicycle Tour for 30 years. The 2-day ride brings more than two thousand riders to beautiful Copper Mountain each summer. The Wheels of Justice Team, an organization dedicated to raising funds for pediatric cancer and blood disorders, raised a record $529,000 in 2019 with the help of star participants Martha Riedel and Micah Gruenwald. Unfortunately, Martha lost her own battle with cancer this year, which is why RMFP is fundraising in her memory.
“One of the great lessons we have learned from serving the Colorado community for so many years is that it takes a village,” remarked Poole. “It takes all of us working together to make it through life’s challenges. But, together, we can make a difference. The Courage Classic Bicycle Tour brings together doctors, patients, families, Olympians, and us, a Denver lumber company, to make the community stronger and healthier.”
One of only two companies in the Rocky Mountain West to earn a spot on LBM Journal’s list of the Top 100 U.S. Lumberyards, Rocky Mountain Forest Products strives to provide its customers with top-quality lumber at competitive prices. Buying direct from the lumberyard allows them to pass savings on to their customers.
