Victoria Flores thinks people deserve to know what they’re putting on their face. “Fundraising was an issue since less than 2% goes to brown and black founders, plus, we didn’t go to Harvard,” quipped Flores. She also noticed that “once I brought on a male founder, it was much easier to get those investor meetings.”

However, Flores said that her gender and cultural heritage help her resonate strongly with different demographics. “People like to buy from people, and if you look like your customer, even better.”
