Ideal for an urban setting, the modern Sheffield design offers a narrow footprint filled with bright living spaces and a reverse living floor plan. Unlike most homes with two levels, the main living area is on the upper floor while additional rooms along with the garage on the street level floor. Designed for an uphill sloping lot, this split level home offers views out the front.
The two car garage is a street level and offers additional storage space that could be set up a workshop. There is direct access to the home’s lower level. A mud hall insures that there is space for bags and muddy shoes can stored here to avoid carrying dirt throughout the home. Down the hall are two additional bedrooms that share a full, compartmentalized bathroom. If the additional sleeping areas are not needed the bedrooms could be furnished as a home office, hobby or exercise room, or whatever other flex space fits the need of the homeowners.
From the mud hall a set of stairs leads you to the entry landing and the home’s front door. Continuing up the second staircase you reach the main living area. At the top of the stairs immediately to the left is a storage closet where guests can hang their coats. A half bath and utility room are nearby. To the right, the floor plan opens up to the vaulted great room. A double sliding glass door opens the great room up to the balcony, extending the living area to the outdoors. The transition to the dining room is seamless and the ability to open the space up to the outdoors is mirrored along the back wall of the dining area. A single sliding glass door opens the room up to the covered deck. A peninsular eating bar provides some visual separation between the kitchen and the dining room. The kitchen is outfitted with modern appliances and a walk-in pantry.
The owners’ suite fills the right side of the upper floor plan. Large windows capture the view out the front and flood the room with natural light. The private bathroom offers dual vanities and a comfortable sized walk-in closet.
