An international art logistics company, Fine Art Shippers, is pleased to introduce the Russian artist Alexei Vasiliev whose unique artistic vision and style have made him one of the most notable representatives of Russian contemporary art. Alexei Vasiliev works outside the artistic environment, society, and innovations, bringing to the world absolutely amazing art pieces that frequently appear at various exhibitions held in Russia and abroad. The artist is also known for his art installations that incorporate canvas pieces, works on paper, and murals, turning the exhibition space into an artwork in itself.
Fine Art Shippers is a full-service art logistics company providing an extensive range of art moving and shipping services. We serve artists, gallerists, museums, arts organizations, dealers, and individual collectors from all over the United States, transporting fine art for them nationally and internationally. Fine Art Shippers also has a wide network of reliable partners and offices in many countries worldwide, which allows us to operate globally. In particular, we are proud to work in Russia, a large and multinational country that is full of talented and creative people. Alexei Vasiliev is one of them, and we are happy to have met this person whose distinctive style is evident in each of his fantastic creations.
Alexei Vasiliev was born in 1980 in Kaluga, a beautiful Russian city located on the Oka River. In 2002, he graduated from Kaluga State University named after K. E. Tsiolkovsky. Alexei Vasiliev is a painter predominantly working in acrylics on canvas and paper. Media and colors used by Vasiliev are carefully chosen by the artist to serve as a part of the artwork. Thus, each painting has its own meaning and story that is often a somewhat mix of the real and fictional biography, an episode from the character’s life.
Another interesting thing about Alexei Vasiliev is that he is a reclusive artist who does not follow any art trends, preferring to work in his own style. His paintings and drawings cannot be attributed to any specific genre, but they have much in common with 20th-century German-Austrian Expressionist art and Japanese manga illustrations. The artist works outside of the art community, popular trends, and society, putting his full concentration on the creation of his unique art pieces.
Works by Alexei Vasiliev have been exhibited at numerous solo and group shows in Russia, Estonia, Sweden, Portugal, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, China, and the United States. These include exhibitions at the State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Tallinn Portrait Gallery, and more. Alexei Vasiliev is, without a doubt, one of the most interesting and prominent representatives of Russian contemporary art, whose work makes you look twice.
