Drawing on her own family’s oral tradition author Anna Samwel has put together her debut children’s picture book to both help educate, entertain, and inspire children and to make sure these stories are never lost forever. The new book “Little Black Cappy” has been recently published by positive publishing house Your Book Angel to high anticipation, and has immediately been embraced by both young readers and their guardians.
“Most of my childhood stories were passed down through oral tradition,” commented Samwel. “I decided to write them down so that I can share them with the world. I also wrote this book because I believed that children’s curiosity increases when they get to read stories from different parts of the world. There are many aspects of life children will learn from this story.”
Highlights of the lessons taught in fun and creative ways in “Little Black Cappy”, which tells the tale of a young girl that encounters wild animals while on her way to her grandparents, include teaching children to be respectful to animals; to love and be kind to one another; the importance of being reliable; to help the elderly; to show them it is okay to say NO when necessary; and to always let parents, friends, teachers and guardians know when something unusual may have happened and not keep things secret from important people.
