Leading supplier of gold plating kits promotes new corporate officers, adds new facility, and prepares to roll out new product lines.

When Gold Plating Services started over 27 years ago, gold plating equipment was cumbersome and hard to use. GPS set out to change that with its portable, bench-top electroplating kits. Today, the company is thriving with a new production location, new products, and the promotion of two new corporate officers who worked their way up from entry-level positions.
Gold Plating Services offers its own line of easy-to-use, bench-top plating kits, gold solutions and accessories. Their goal is to make the process of electroplating with gold and other metal finishes accessible to everyone — from engineers to jewelry repair professionals to hobbyists working out of their basements or garages.
Though the company started small, it has quickly expanded, and it is pleased to announce a number of new achievements. They have opened a new production location and promoted new corporate officers Robert Darger (President) and Amy Alverson (VP of Operations/Operation Manager).
Both Darger and Alverson joined the Gold Plating Services team as entry-level fulfillment team employees and worked their way up to their current executive level positions, signifying the company’s devotion to upward mobility.
“When I started with GPS over 11 years ago, I was just focused on getting the next order out — not rising to president of the company,” said Darger. “I feel like I’ve worked very hard over the years, and it’s exciting to see that rewarded with promotions along the way and, now, the opportunity to lead this company.”
Darger has plans to roll out two new product groups in the next few months. He will also to continue to focus on the company’s specialized plating kits, such as the Universal Plater Chrome Edition, which has been particularly popular lately. This plating system allows for gold plating onto a wide variety of metal surfaces — including chrome — and is especially useful for plating things likes tarnished automobile emblems.
Alverson said that GPS also plans to roll out more YouTube videos, the company’s signature method of providing much-needed technical support for users.
“It’s one thing to have electroplating equipment and another thing to be able to use it to its fullest,” said Alverson. “This can be a very simple and extremely rewarding process with many possibilities, but there’s just not a lot of information out there on it. We’re changing that with our YouTube tutorials.”
The company has dozens of training videos on their website to help people hone their electroplating skills.
Gold Plating Services’ bench-top plating kits can be used on automotive features, jewelry, guns, coins, fishing lures, furniture hardware, printed circuit boards, medical equipment, and more. The GPS team also manufactures their own gold plating solutions.
